Why Believers Shouldn't Worry About Haters

Luke 6:22-36

22 What blessings await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock you and curse you as evil because you follow the Son of Man. 23 When that happens, be happy! Yes, leap for joy! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, their ancestors treated the ancient prophets that same way.

THIS!!!!! I mean seriously. Need I say anymore. Taken straight from scripture; Luke 6:22-23. Here's simply why you cannot complain about having haters. My MacArthur commentary says, "...such persecution carries with it the blessing of God."

I got this from a friend of mine who posted it to their IG page and I believe it is so true. Reason being is, according to the scripture above, your haters aren't even worried about you more than it is God who has you on His mind to bring you to and through such persecution you're facing with your haters! in the first place!

Love for Enemies (Haters)

27 “But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. 28 Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you. 29 If someone slaps you on one cheek, offer the other cheek also. If someone demands your coat, offer your shirt also. 30 Give to anyone who asks; and when things are taken away from you, don’t try to get them back.

Well, here's a twist on what our response 'should' be. Jesus requires some serious paradigm shifting to take place when he say things like, "Love your enemies....If someone slaps you on one cheek, offer the other cheek also, and give your shirt too for someone who you have given your coat to." This type of thinking is counter-cultural and causes peope look at you funny when you do any of the sorts. This is the norm when you're a FOLLOWER of Christ.

This is why you cannot complain about having haters. I challenge you this week to respond to one of your 'haters' in a way that takes you outside of your comfort zone. Give them a compliment. Ooh! Here's one....better yet!...PRAY FOR THEM. I dare you to pray for their success, pray for their breakthrough, pray for their health, pray for their family, etc. Talk to yal next time!
